My keyless remote transmitter is intermitnet. I have replace it but cannot program it. The instructions state to locate the "red two wired programming connector located near the central locking control module below driver instrument panel, under steering wheel." Near complete disassembly of dash has not turned up this connector. Is it possible the the vehincle being a 9/97 production makes it a 1998? If this is the case, what are the procedures? Has anyone re-programmed a new remote to one of these vehicles?

Well, the factory manual says you need to jumper from pin 8 to pin 4 on the Data Link Connector (that would be the ALDL connector that you would plug in a scan tool at). The receiver should respond by locking then unlocking the doors and unlatching the rear window. That means it is in programming mode. Now press any button on the remote. The receiver should lock then unlock again to tell you it sees the new remote. Then push any button on a second receiver. Remove the jumper wire and you should be OK.
