1996 Chevy Blazer brakes are hard to push.

My brakes are hard to push down. I am stopping, but I have to break way ahead of time. Theres seems to be a lot of pressure because there times when it feels they are pushing back. When I am stopped the car seems to idol lower than normal as well. What can I do to fix this problem?

Need to have brake booster checked. Big can thing behind master cyl. The low idle is classic booster vacuum leak. This is dangerous to drive if you need to stop quickly the Hulk could not apply enough force.
