1992 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic N/A miles

Brand new starter. Will not turn ovar, I dissconected the battry and everytime I attempt to put the negative back on the battry it sparks and the starter tries to turn over. The battry is good. Whats wrong with this starter? Possibly the wire to the fuse box?

Either the starter is bad,
or you didn't wire something correctly.

I'm thinking more likely the positive battery cable is touching the small post that energizes the solenoid.

Maybe I misunderstood what you first said.

Is the starter trying to turn over the engine when you connect the battery cables?
