If equipped, remove the belt guard.
To remove:
Rotate the belt tensioner clockwise using a 15mm wrench for 2.0L and 2.2L engines. For 2.8L engines, use a 3 / 4 in. Open end wrench to rotate the tensioner. On the 2.3L engine, a serpentine belt is used to drive the alternator and air conditioner compressor. To replace the belt push (rotate) the belt tensioner, using a 13 mm socket. For the 3.1L (VIN T) engine, use a 1 / 2 in. Breaker bar to rotate the tensioner.
Slide the belt from the alternator pulley.
Release the tensioner, then remove the serpentine drive belt.

To install:

Properly route the serpentine drive belt

Rotate the belt tensioner clockwise, using the proper sized wrench.

Slide the belt onto the alternator pulley

Release the belt tensioner.

If equipped, install the belt guard.

Make sure you look at your belt routing diagram before taking belt off to know how to route new one ;)
