I can only get the air to blow out on my feet and/or defrost/windshield.

There is a small plastic vacuum feed line that starts on the drivers side of the engine and crosses over to the pass side, then goes into the HVAC box, accessible from the hood. You will find that it is broken, repair it with a small piece of rubber vacuum line and you will be working again
