Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 173k miles

I got a code saying somthing about one cylinder not firing, auto zone guy said "you need a new coil" so I put in a new coil, still got the code but the engine ran. I got a new cap and rotor on spec and installed them. I got about 60 miles on them, turned off motor turned motor back on, ran like loosing power for about 1/2 mile and died. I got a old cap and rotor out of trash aand installed them. No spark out from cap. Tried old cap and new rotor. No spark. Tried old rotor and new cap. No spark. I do get spark from the end of the coil wire, but nothing out from cap. Help!

I do get spark from the end of the coil wire-If you mean the coil wire disconnected from the distributor and also what color is it. Double check the cap and rotor it has to make it out of there to get to the plugs-
