I have the truck listed above Lobo V8 5.6L. I think and the check gauges light came on dash and the engine temperature gauge is showing too hot.

Hi Jesus, Thank you for using 2CarPros. Let me see what we can do to help you out here.

The Check gauges light should come on to make you see the temp gauge is hi. Is the engine temperature high? Have you checked it with a thermometer?

IE, is the gauge accurate and it is over heating or is the coolant temperature normal and the gauge is wrong.

Rich.

I haven't checked the temperature at all. But my worry about the "check gauges" light came on before the temperature gauge went hot.

Okay, first things first. We need to know if it is actually over heating or if the sending unit is bad, so get it up to temp and check the coolant temperature with a thermometer. Then compare that to what the gauge is reading and see if they match.

Let me know. Rich
