I have the car listed above 335d 3.0L twin turbo diesel. My check engine light came on and it is the half filled up. Check engine light and the code is reading p3163 and p1729 when I hook up my code reader. I was hoping you could help me understand what's wrong and how to fix it myself. Also my car has the emissions system delete and scr delete. I don't know if that makes a difference or not but just wanted to let you know.

The 3163 is an injector code and most likely causing your engine to not run smoothly.

If that is the case the 1729 is just telling you that the PCM is picking up an issue with the crank sensor.

We are going to have to check the injector and make sure the connector is connected properly for injector 6.

If it is then we need to check the resistance of the injector to make sure it is correct. Otherwise we need to replace the injector.

Here are a couple guides that will help with this testing:

Below you will find the testing that we need to do on the injector and go from there. If you need to replace the injector. That process is there as well.
