Okay, I came out of work got in my car and turn it on and it made a loud noise and it was pulling to turn off and the check engine light went on. I turned the car off waited a few seconds and turn the car back on again this time the noise was like if I had my foot on the gas then it started to calm down to normal but the check engine light is still on i was able to get home safe. My husband meant me and we checked the oil made sure the cooling fans turn on and belts moving and also opened the gas cap and tighten it back and still the engine light is on . Also I noticed a lot of white smoke come out the back pipe then it calms down from a lot of smoke . I did get an engine flash a few months ago as well so not sure what's the problem . Also, a few months ago I had to do the module of my car as well . What you think could be wrong .

The light is indicating that a code has been set, you will have to go get a scan done and report back what codes are set. this will take a mechanic just a few minutes to do and some parts stores may do the scan as a free service.
