My boyfriend changed my oil and oil filter in my vehicle, and now when it goes into drive the rpm's just keep climbing like it’s not going into first gear. It’s also slow to switch into drive from reverse. All of this started suddenly and I’ve never had a single problem with the transmission. My vehicle has the winter drive and power drive buttons you can switch off and on and the optional 4H and 4L drives. None of which are engaged, or used. Any ideas on what might have caused the sudden issue? Just checking to see if anyone has had the same scenario happen before I drop hundreds on a mechanic.

Good afternoon,

Did he check the fluid in the transmission? If the fluid level is low, it will do this.

Does it back up okay in reverse?

Seems to back up normally in reverse. We couldn’t find a way to check the transmission fluid. Is it only accessible to check on the pan?

Add fluid in the picture I posted to that hole until it comes out. Then it is full.
