Replaced linkage cable, gasket, filter, solenoid, diagnostic machine read something to do with coolant temperature. So replaced thermostat and then starter went out. So replaced and gears still not right neither is temperature.

Good afternoon,

What was the code that was set? I need that to help

If there is no transmission code or TPS code. good chance you have an internal failure in the transmission not allowing it to work correctly.

Did this happen all of a sudden?

I need the exact code number.

No to the catalytic converter unless the engine will not rev up in park or neutral.
