I was driving along and lost power and couldn't accelerate. I thought I was out of gas so I bought 2 gallons and refueled the car. When I tired to start the car all the locks started flipping and the dash locks started flashing while turning the key.

Hi,

The first thing I suggest is to check that the battery is charged and the terminals are clean and tight. If the battery gets weak enough, crazy things like this can happen.

Here is a link that shows how to load test the battery:

If it fails the test, remove it and take it to a parts store and have them charge and load test it. Most will do it for free. If there isn't one near you, here is a link that explains how to charge a battery:

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe

Thanks Joe. I check the terminals and jump started the car, now it works like normal. Battery must have drained while I was sitting waiting for my friend to pick me up.

Hi,

You are very welcome. I had a feeling it was a voltage issue. Today's vehicles are so dependent on a specific amount of power. When it drops, all kinds of things happen.

Regardless, I'm glad to hear that it's working again. Please feel free to come back in the future if you have questions. You're always welcome here.

Take care,
Joe
