A few years ago (maybe 3.5) the battery was replaced and if I recall correctly the car did the same thing. Do you think it could jsut be the battery. The car was driving fine until this. I do admit I now commute via bus to work so the car isn't running as much as it was a month or so ago.

Hi, wI tried to start my car this morning and the engine wouldn't turnover. I know my battery is going bad and its been cranking slow, but put a charger on it for few hours and tried to crank. All the lights came on, but not even a click or anything when trying to start. I hooked up cables and tried again. Same thing, could it be a fuse or relay, or any other ideas. It is also a manual. Is there a clutch sensor or something like that.

Could be a bad starter/solenoid. Check for 12 volts at the small wire on the starter with key in crank position. If it has power then the starter needs to be replaced. If none, then get back to me and we will figure out where it stops

I am rebuilding a 3.0 from a Mazda 6. The manual states that there are 3 different grades of the standard size main bearings. I bought standard aftermarket bearings but the clearance is on the very limit of the tolarence. I bought.010 over but that is so tight the crank won't turn after torquing it down. I have spent hours calling different mazda and ford dealers and I haven't found the bearings I need. According to the engine manual I need standard grade 2 bearings. One dealer found the lower bearing in grade 2, but not the upper bearings. You can't mix sizes can you? The manual doest say that. Can you help?

You need a machine shop to measure the bearing journals and give you the reccomended bearings. You may need to have the crank cut to get the correct bearings

Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Mazda 6 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 70k miles

wife was driving and it just stopped with no indication of a problem. When I looked at it, it cranked well but it does not seem to be getting any gas. I chekced the fuses and they are fine. I have a Mazda 6 (2004) 4-cylinder. I also tried to listen for the fuel pump coming on when I turned the ignition swtith to the on position but heard nothing. R nIs there something else I can check before actually assuming it is the fuel pump?
