Car shuts off when shifting gears

Every time it shift gears the car cuts off and then I try to put it in neutral and it still cuts off while the battery light is showing up. Then after at least three or more times trying to crank the car back up while on neutral the car starts back up. Could it be the spark plugs or bad gas? I am not sure because the I went to O'Rielly and I got a new sensor put on the car and the check engine light is off now. But I am still having problems with the car. Please help if you can.

This sounds like the car needs to have the throttle bore serviced. We should run the codes as well. here are two guides that will help us fix the problem:
