Hi there, I have a quick question, my mechanic fixed the engine and now the engine light on the dashboard glows. But, when the vehicle is idle, stopping in traffic lights or stopping in round about it struggles for pickup and stalls a lot and stops sometimes. Do you think reprogramming the engine would fix the issue or please shed your expertise?

Hi,

Please understand, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, but I will try my best to help.

First, what did the mechanic do as far as repairs and did this start right after he repaired it? Have you had the computer scanned to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored?

What you described could be the result of a few things. For example, an engine vacuum leak or a faulty idle air control valve can cause this.

Here is a link that explains how to test for vacuum leaks and one for servicing an idle air control valve. Let me know if you are comfortable performing these.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
