I was driving and my car lost all acceleration and came to a complete stop but didn’t lose power. It’s was still running but wouldn’t move even when I pressed down on the gas pedal. Turned it off and tried to turn it back on and it shook violently. My oil pressure drop to zero and my ABS light came on. Let it sit for ten minutes and it started right up and drove like nothing happened. Would a sensor malfunction cause this?

Hello,

This sounds like a bad ground from either your vehicle's Power-train Control Module (PCM) or "computer", or the Transmission Control Module (TCM). It could possibly be a Connector Area Network(CAN) or "computer lines" issue. Whatever it was, it will be impossible to diagnose until it happens again. Is your Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or "check engine" light illuminated?

Thanks,
Alex
