Engine revs up high when transmission is in park. And when I add gas, it has trouble starting up.

Hello,

So, how high does it idle, when in park? What about when you put it in drive?

Does it run rough as you drive?

This could be an issue with the throttle actuator. Is your check engine light illuminated?
If so scanning and retrieving the code(s) can help with the diagnostics.

Here is a guide on how to retrieve engine error codes:

Let me know little more details of what you have been experiencing.
Thank you.

The RPMs go up between 2 and 3, it goes up and down repeatedly when in park and when I reverse it idles high too. But when I’m driving it’s fine, no problem there. The other issue is when I put gas in, it has trouble trying to start, every time when I put in gas... Also yes, the check engine light is on. I had the throttle cleaned but no fix to the problem.

I think a good first step would be to scan and retrieve the code(s) for the check engine light. This issue could be due to a faulty within the throttle actuator and it is not providing proper signal to the ECM.
You can take it to your local auto parts store, and they can scan the engine light for you.
Let me know what code that you find.
