Hey, I'm super stumped and have been for a few months now. I had to replace my timing chain so I bought a whole timing chain kit and replaced all the parts. I made sure all the all marks lined up TDC on the compression stroke. New alternator new battery new A/C compressor. Car ran fine before and ca not get it to start, it makes like a high pitch whining noise no turn over. New spark plugs and new fuel pump, no check engine light on. Please please please help me!

Welcome to 2CarPros.

When do you hear the noise? Also, did you replace all 3 chains? Is it possible for you to record the sound when cranking the engine so I can hear it. You can upload it here. Also, I attached a few pics that show timing marks and where they should be. The first is the left the second is the right and the third is the crankshaft. Also, when you timed it, did you confirm the timing mark of each sprockets was matched with timing mark (color link) of timing chain? I ask because this is an interference engine and internal damage will result if the timing was set incorrectly.

Let me know.

Joe

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me! Yes, I made sure that they all were at the correct marks and I will post a video in the morning, the noise I heard was after I did the timing and tried to start it and the best way I can describe it is either a dry start or like something is not catching like when you turn the key your car will turn and catch and then start but whatever is supposed to catch like the flywheel or something I don't know.

Welcome back:

Is it a grinding noise? Regardless, if you can upload it, that would really be helpful.

Take care and I'll watch for your reply tomorrow.
