I have had it checked with the Chevrolet dealership they cannot find anything wrong with it. They said it needs to be getting hot but they will not let it get hot. It still overheating, it heats up real fast even when I go four blocks that goes halfway up on the needle. I am thinking it might be one of the cooling fan module but I cannot find the relay on my car. I need to know where it is at and how to remove it and it has got a new one. One of the fan seems to be working but the other one does not when the engine is hot. I also like to know how to change the thermostat if I could do it on my own.

Good morning.

Does it go to the red on the gauge or just half way?

The one fan is for AC when you have it on. The other is cooling fan that comes on at about 215 degrees.

As far as a cooling fan module, no, there is not a module for that. The engine control module controls the fans based on inputs from the coolant sensor.

No, it does not go all the way to red. It goes a little past halfway up but it does not overheat when the AC is on at 8 overheat on the interstate to air from the outside flow should be going to engine which it does not.

If there was no air flow, then it would overheat.

I would start by changing the thermostat. That may take care of the entire issue.

The fans have a relay on them it is on the left side facing the car so worth the cooling. Thanks for the engine you are talking about the engine cooling module.
