Changed water pump about a year ago, and just about two weeks ago changed temperature Sencer and thermostat. The gauge is jumping like it was getting a surge. And the temperature was not getting very warm or no heat. Now it is going about 3/4 of the way up and as I get about 30 miles into a trip it goes to the mark on the gauge close to hot. I have been thinking about putting a mechanical gauge on it also. Any idea what’s going on would help? This is my work car to help save gas.

Hi,

The idea that it surges, and you have little heat, my first suspects are either it is low on coolant or there is still air in the cooling system.

I just checked the procedure for bleeding, and it seems I may be correct. There is a technical service bulletin related to this problem.

I attached the bulletin below which is somewhat extensive for bleeding the system. Take a look through it and let me know if it helps.

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

You are very welcome. If you have a chance, could you let me know if this takes care of the issue? I'm interested in knowing.

Regardless, take care, and feel free to come back anytime in the future.

Joe
