Our 1997 Jimmy would not start so we replaced the fuel filter as well as the fuel pump, it now starts fine and will idle ok until we start to go and let up on the gas, as soon as we stop accelerating the car dies. Does not matter if you are trying to go forward or reverse as soon as we let up on the gas the car dies. What should we check.

Clean throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner and check fuel pressure with a gauge if it's a V6 it should have 60-66 psi if not it may be a regulator. It should hold with in 5lbs for at lest 5 minutes. After key off.
