I am going to replace the compressor in my car because it is not functioning and when I turn the A/C on it makes a loud noise. The r134 must be evacuated into a recovery tank. I believe I must flush the system, but do I need to flush the system? And can I reuse the r134 in the recovery tank or should I buy new r134? Thank you and God Bless you!

Good afternoon,

The recovered freon must be recycled before installing it into the car. You need a recovery machine that can recycle. Otherwise, you need to use a new Freon.

As far as flushing, you need a flush that has a boiling temperature of fewer than 212 degrees. That way when you evacuate the system for about 40 minutes, it will boil out the flush.
