Hello,

The car listed above has a 2.2crdi engine.
The problem is that the we tried to start the car but we didn't. Found trouble code p0335 camshaft sensor faulty.
Cleaned the sensor and started the car but after 10 minutes the engine stopped suddenly and now is broken.
I'm sure the engine is damaged because I checked it.
My question is, can the crankshaft sensor done this?

This is unlikely. The CKP sensor does nothing more then detect where the crankshaft position is so the ECM can time the ignition and fuel correctly. More than likely you had an issue in the engine and it just failed at that point.

Let me know if you need more info. Thanks

I asked another professional mechanic for the reason and he said probably the sensor stopped working and the ECU did not worked properly with fuel and air and closed the valves. So it possible.

I could be missing something but this is what happens every time you turn the key off. When you shut the engine off, the CKP sensor stops reading, the ECM shuts the fuel off and stops firing the plugs. You can unplug the sensor with the engine running and depending on the vehicle it will just shut off. Just sounds like this mechanic doesn't fully understand how the sensor works.

Clearly I disagree with this professional mechanic but again, maybe I am missing something with this situation.
