I need to know for the truck listed above XL model super crew, where the Camshaft Position Sensor B Location is on the driver side is. I can’t seem to find any information on it on the internet. I’m getting code P0390.

P0390 - Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit (Bank 2) The P0390 code on your 2020 Ford F-150 indicates an issue with the Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) "B" on Bank 2.

Yes, there are two sensors for the camshaft which are on the rear of the valve cover. I need to tell you though it might not be the sensor, these engine had problems with the camshaft phasers, also I would make sure the engine oil is clean and full, if not change the oil a filter and clear the code and it might go away. The sensors are on the left side of the engine toward the rear of the valve cover. If you change the sensors make sure to clear the codes once the job is complete. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes.

I already changed the sensor and the code cleared out on its own once I changed the sensor, but the truck is still making a weird noise like a crackling noise when I press on the gas, my oil life is at 20% my truck has never had this problem I got it at 30,000 miles and I am about to hit 59,000 Miles. I live in south Texas RGV it’s always hot here and this week when we got 40-degree weather my truck started making that crackling noise when the check engine light came on, I don’t know what’s the problem?

Can you upload a short video of the engine noise from under the hood? That way I can tell what is going on. Is the noise coming from the front of the engine?

Yes, the engine noise is coming from the front. I have been trying to capture a video of the noise, but it always happens when I’m driving, especially when I accelerate, I’m sure you’re right that it has something to do with the cam phasers or the timing chain. When I can capture the noise on video I will send it.

Thanks for the videos, but I was hoping to get a video from under the hood while the engine is idling. Is it making a slight rattle or ticking noise? Also did you clear the codes after the sensor were replaced? Thanks for the videos btw ;) , they help.

I did the oil and filter change, the noise stopped like you said and the code cleared on its own but now a day later another code came out and now it’s saying the MAF SENSOR, does the 2020 ford F 1-50 xl 5.0 L have a MAF ensor because I can’t seem to find it, and if it does where is it located? They told me at O'Reilly's to check the engine air filter to see if it was dirty. I already checked but it was clean.
