Where is the Camshaft position sensor B located?

I have codes for Camshaft position sensor bank 2 sensor b circuit malfunction and intermittent. I can only find 2 sensors on the front of the engine.

Hi,

Are you sure it is a camshaft sensor, or could it be a variable valve timing solenoid? Is it possible for you to let me know the code?

Hi,

The codes are related to the items I indicated in my pic. However, did they all come on at the same time? The variable valve timing solenoid for both banks 1 and 2 are shown and they usually don't fail at the same time. Note that the cam sensor codes may be the result of the VVT codes and the opposite.

Let me know. Also, make sure the engine oil is both clean and full. Additionally, disconnect the connectors to all of the sensors one at a time and inspect the inside of the connection to see if there is any corrosion or damage. If they are good, I would start with replacing the camshaft position sensors. I say sensors because the codes are for both banks of the engine.

First thing when I got home today, I checked the oil in the wife's expedition and found it to be low, very low 5 quarts low! So, I guess I need to start checking on it for my wife! So, for now, I added the 5 quarts and drive it downtown. At first it sounded much better and seemed to run better. It did start to shutter and then the same codes popped. I checked the oil when we returned home and found it to be dirty. I plan to have my wife continue to drive for a week and then I'll change the oil and filter to see how things go. I'm hoping that she didn't ruin the solenoids or the phasers. I worked on helicopters in the military, but these Ford engines don't seem to be any more fun.
