Pulled car into garage last night. Went out this morning to start and it will not crank. Turns over and acts like it is trying to start. Have checked fuses and you can hear the fuel pump sound for about two seconds when you turn on key.
Have OBD II device and plugged in, no codes returned. Also removed cover on engine, found what I believe to be pressure relief for fuel, depressed the valve and no gas or pressure present.
Before I drop the tank, is there anything I would be missing that is a simple problem. Also, while you are responding, any pointers on dropping the tank. It looks like a job. Thanks for your time.

Hi Roger,

Before you go dropping the tank, Here is what I would do.

First try turning key to on (NOT STARTING) and do this about 3 - 4 times and faily quick and on the 5th time try starting. If starts then dies most likely it is the Fuel Pressure Regulator.

The best thing to do is call your local rental store and see if they have a Fuel Pressure Tester. If so hook it up and turn key to on possition and watch the gage. If gage doen't seem to move try doing it a few times as stated above. If pressurizes then drops right back to zero then most likey it the pressure regulator.

Pressure should be anywhere between 55 and 60 psi.
