98 Deville northstar crackling noise

When I drive my car sometimes ill hear this crackling noise when I hit the accelerator. When its hot, I can still hear a crackling, sort of knocking noise when ideling. When I start her up, I dont hear it but after awhile of normal driving, it starts up again. Sounds like if something metal is bouncing around internally. Any help answering question is most appreciated.
