Where is the water pump located? Where is the Thermostat located? How do I Access it?, and what is the best way to replace it?

I have had my car diagnosed with a bad water pump. I am short on money and want to fix myself. I have new pump, washer, the tool for pump.

There is a washer that came with the new pump, but I also bought this large blue washer that is called "water pump cover" also a small triangle water pump gasket. Both shown in picture...are they needed or just the round single washer that came with new water pump?

If you look on the trans end of the front bank, a cam journal protrudes and has a pulley on it. That pulley drives the water pump. You will need to remove the air cleaner, and the secondary air check valve. From there you will see the lower hose(disconnect), and a heater bypass hose(disconnect). Remove the tensioner, belt, and bolts that secure the cover, and you will need a special tool to disengage the pump from the housing. Replace the round o-ring, and pump. You will need the pear shaped seal for the cover. The triangle gasket is one of four gaskets for the housing that crosses overto the rear bank, that is a much more involved repair.
