Engine Cooling problem
1997 Cadillac Deville V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello. A friend of mine has a 1997 Cadillac Deville. He took it to a mechanic and was told it was the cyl head gasket. He didnt say wheter it smoked out the exhaust or if it is in the oil. Iam guessing this will be a lot of work being front wheel drive V8. I heard of this company RX Auto therma gasket that is "supposed to cure this problem" This doent seem likely to me but I thought I would ask some professionals what their take was on such a product fi it works or for how long. Also would I have to drop the motor and trans from the bottom to put new head gaskets on it. Thank you very much for any info you could provide me. Matt

Hello and thanks for donating

First off, you will have to remove the engine out of the bottom to replace your vehicle's head gaskets. Also, any type of head gasket repair product, in my opinion, is a waste of time and money. In most cases, this stuff only makes a mess of the motor and requires even more disassembly to clean it back up. I would just put new head gaskets on it ;)
