2003 Cadillac CTS, approx: 87,000 miles, 3.6 liter -

I had the oil pan changed last year, started smelling burt oil and examined the oil pan to find oil leaking.

It's a slow drip and is leaking from a slight little what looks like a bracket in the middle of the oil pan. It's not the plug. I'm wondering if something was left loose or needs to be tightened. I don't know what that bracket is.

They ahd to pull the motor to change the pan last time.

Anyone who knows what that bracket is or can help with my problem please HELP!

I believe your engine is a 2.6L and the bracket that you are referring to if its in between the block and oil pan its the crankshaft bearing bridge.

Might want to retighten it, if you can get at the bolts around the area that's leaking
