Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Buick Skylark 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic ~47k miles

Hello. My engine shut off on me while I was driving a couple of days ago. At first I thought it was the battery but when we tested the battery it came back good holding a 97% charge. I had noticed that the check oil light came on as yellow the same morning. When we try to start the car, the starter clicks but that's where it ends. We checked the oil and it was low but there was still some on the dip stick (below the first dot but there was still some there). The next oil check was supposed to be in 400 miles. The odd thing is that when we tried starting it the next day after we added some oil and antifreeze the car struggled at first to start then it turned over and the engine started, but it was going a little crazy (it sounded like it was looking for something) and then shut off 20 seconds later. So far I had it towed to my house where it's sat in the cold for a while. I live in Dubuque, Iowa. Thanks

Hi crystal bad news these engs had a habit of locking up as in crankshaft bearing going dry and locking the engine. I have two at my shop right now that did the exact same thing. The only thing that can keep it from turning over is starter batt or locked eng sorr thanks for writeing and if I can help please write billymac
