2000 Buick Regal engine will not turn over when attempt to

When attempt to start dash lights go out and engine will not turn over. Clicking sound heard under hood during attempt. This situation occurs sporatically. Engine will start if jumped with emergency battery. Have had charging system, and battery checked at local Checker store. No indications of faulty starter, battery or alternator.

Right now it sounds like the battery or battery cables. I've seen intermittent no start caused by bad battery cables. The vehicle would always start with a boost. You might try cleaning both ends of the battery cables, see if it helps.

Any testing you do, needs to be done when the vehicle refuses to crank.
