1995 Buick Regal stop lamps

My stop lamps do not work. The upper back window one does though.I changed or checked all bulbs and all taillights work. My blinkers dont work though. You have to hold it down and fiddle with it sometimes to get them to work. Help!

If I hold down or fiddle with the turn signal stick left or right I can get them to work and the lights come on. So a new switch would fix that but does that have anything to do with the stop lights?I dont see the connection or is it two problems?

Brake light circuit runs through turn switch so it will allow blinkers to work while braking. High Mount light on seperate circuit
