my car ran out of gas the other day and now I cant get it to start. Is there anything I can do like we use to do in the past and put a lil gas on our carburetor

You don't have a carburator on your engine. If you filled it back with fuel, cycle the key on/off several times (30-seconds between on-off). This'll get your gas from the tank to the injectors.

If your car refuses to start, then you have another issue going on besides just running out of gas.

You'll have to check for spark, fuel, etc.
