I found out myself, I was told the feul filter was on the passenger side, mid way down, by an auto parts worker and even a repair manual, both of them were wrong.

The feul filter is located on the drivers side, just under the back door area.

Thanks anyway everyone, kingly7

1997 Park Avenue, 125000 miles, 6 cylinder. I have to change the fuel filter on this car and can't find it. Where is it located. I also need to replace the spark plugs. How do you do this?

Fuel filter is located under the vehicle toward the rear wheels on the driver side. It will most likely look like a small silver can with a fuel line connected to each end.

Spark Plug
Removal Procedure
Turn OFF the ignition switch.
Caution: Wash your hands after handling coated spark plugs and before smoking. The coating is a non-hazardous material and incidental contact will not cause any adverse effects. However, exposure to polymer vapors - the result of contamination of cigarette products and subsequent burning of the polymer - may result in flu-like symptoms and should be avoided.

Spark plug wires from the plugs. Note the position of the wires before removing. Twist the boot 1/2 turn while removing.

Important
Do not remove spark plugs when engine is warm.
Clean dirt and debris from spark plug recess area.

Remove the spark plugs from the engine.
Installation Procedure
Install the spark plugs. Tighten
Tighten the spark plugs to 15 N m (11 lb ft).

Important
Aluminum heat shields are used over the spark plug boots on the cylinders which are close to the exhaust tubing. Care should be taken in order to ensure these heat shields are fully seated.

Install the plug wires to the proper spark plugs. Use the position reference noted during the removal procedure.

You fuel pump is supposed to stay on at all times while your engine is running. If it doesn't, then your engine will cut off.

If it's making strange noises, then it may be going bad. Your fuel filter will make your engine run terrible if it's clogged, but it can concievably cause you poor gas mileage.

When is the last time you did a complete tune up? And when your engine dies, does the check engine light come on?

With so many miles on your car, mileage is bound to begin dropping off anyway, as a matter of normal engine wear.

A clogged fuel filter would result in loss of power, more noticeable at higher engine rpms.
