1992 Buick Park Avenue car stalling and making a grinding s

This engine has always been great. Last month it started to rev and choke up.I noticed I had some leaks and replaced some gaskets.I was told it might be an air flow sensor.I have been drivng the car but only when I need to. Now when I try to drive it. It stalls and makes a grinding sound

You can clean the MAF sensor with a special cleaner.
It will make engine run rough/rich if it fails.

The grinding is a different situation, check oil for the presence of coolant.
