Vehicle runs fine until it decides to quit. Stalls out with no notice at any speed, cruising down the highway or setting at idle. Code scan brings up nothing. Vehicle shuts down, dash lights show start condition, hit neutral or park and she fires up like brand new; until next time. Could happen in minutes or wait for weeks. Any ideas?

Next time it decides to quit-do below immediately and comeback with results

Get a starting fluid or ether and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

I had the same problem with my car (1993 Bucik LaSabre) - I could be traveling anyway, any speed and all of a sudden, it decides to go on "timeout". After some research on "google" it was suggested to have my solenoid replaced (I think in the steering wheel column?). I told my mechanic and he said that Buick Lasabre are know to have this problem. I had it replaced and haven't had problems since (with the solenoid anyway).

Good Luck.
