1998 Buick Century wont start

It was running sluggishly not to long ago and last night it died on me now the car will turn over and start and run if I pump the gas pedal pepeatedly once I stop pumping it will die where can I start to eliminate whats it is doing and not doing and to remeedy thus delema at hand thanxs guys

Hi:
If posisible, try to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most nationally recognized auto parts stores will do it for free.

WHat size engine does it have?
