I replaced my waterpump, and the engine overheats within 2 blocks.I took the thermistat out, put the seal back in and put the housing back on. I don't expect to get much heat without the thermistat in, but the car still is running hot, without a thermistat in(eliminating the thermistat as the culpret). The upper radiator hose will go warm for a second, than cold again. I am going to pick up a thermistat because there should be one in there, but is there something more I should sheck?

Sounds to me like you may have developed a air lock put your thermistat back in. This way you won't have to do this twice. Lift the front end of your vehicle up as high as you can with a jack and jack stands make sure the cooling system is full, open the rad cap, and run the engine for a while with the heater on the highest setting and watch your gauge, the air lock should work its way out to the highest point, then you should be on your way. This method seems to have worked best for me. Hope this helps.
