Car brake pedal locked when coming to a junction then the dash lit up with battery light oil and another came on had to roll to side of the road, then turned engine off. Then my partner arrived, started it and drove it home and it seemed fine. I was thinking maybe the weather, with being the hottest day on record. I have only had the car for four days.

Hello,

With "brake pedal locked up" do you mean that the pedal became hard to press or did the brakes lock up when stopping?

When warning lights came on it would be best to first conduct a CAN-scan to see if any relevant fault codes are stored.

How to conduct a scan:

Once the scan has been done, please post the fault codes on here so that we can evaluate and try to assist you.

Cheers, Boris

Hello,

Is your car petrol or diesel?

Your model was released in both versions.

Either model a hard brake pedal is caused by a lack of vacuum to the brake booster.

See video below.

And how a brake booster works.

You mentioned that you had warning lights come on when this happened.
Therefore, there should be fault codes stored in the relevant electronic control modules.
As previously suggested, please carry out a CAN scan next using a suitable diagnostic tool.

Cheers, Boris
