Break light

Break lights won't work. Everything else works except the break lights I replaced te switch by the pedel thinking it might be bad but no go. There was a white wire in the harness under the truck that lights up when te pedel is pressed but it wasn't hooked up to anything and I can't figure out we're it goes or if it is even supposed to be hooked up
