Hi:

The idea that the lights have come on leads me to believe there is a speed sensor issue or even something as simple as low brake fluid. The popping noise has me a bit confused. Can you tell approximately where it is coming from?

If you can, have the computer scanned to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored. Also, because a wheel speed sensor can cause this, here is a link that explains how to test one. All you need is a digital multi meter.

If you have already had it scanned, let me know the codes that were found. Try the speed sensor test and let me know if it helps.

Take care,
Joe
