Brake warning light is on continuously and therefore it will not pass state inspection. Changed front brake pads 6,000 miles ago and it has functioned fine since then. Brake fluid is full. Parking brake seems to be working fine, but there is no way to check, as it releases when transmission is shifted. Looking for possible cause, so that I can get light to go out.

Hello, I am Danny.

Have you had a scanner/code reader put on your car to check the brake and ABS codes (brake light on)? If you do not have one, your local auto parts stores (Autozone, Pep Boys, O'Reilly's) can perform a scan free of charge. I have attached a tutorial showing what is involved. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thank you. I read the tutorial and now have some things to look at. I will take the car to AutoZone (two miles away) tomorrow and see what code they find.
