My brakes were grinding for a week. Why does my car sound like it needs new brakes again and can you help me change them out?

Hi,

Front brake pads commonly last approximately 25,000 miles. That can vary based on terrain and driving habits. As far as replacement, they are easy to do and can save you money if you do it yourself.

To get you started, here is a link that explains in general how the procedure is done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-front-brake-pads-and-rotors-fwd

Also, here is a video showing the procedure being done on a Chevrolet Cavalier. Although it is a different model, the procedure is very similar.

If you look at the attachments below, they include directions and pictures specific to your vehicle for brake pads and rotor replacement.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
