My display shows brake light faulty on the right. The light is on but when stepping on the brake pedal the right side does not get brighter as does the left side and center brake light. Is this electrical issue or a new bulb?

Hello!

Most likely the problem is a new bulb. These lamps actually have two filaments inside. One is for the running lights while the headlamps are on, and the other is for the turn signal and brake lamp. When the brake or the turn signal is activated, the second filament lights up as well seeming to make it "brighter".

The proper replacement bulb for your vehicle is a 3157 and that is available at any auto parts store for around five to seven dollars.

See this link:

Also, see the diagrams attached:
Note: I attached diagrams for both the four door and hatchback models.

Procedure for replacing the bulb

1. locate and remove the trim cover for the tail lamp assembly
2. Locate and remove the fasteners for the tail lamp assembly.
3. pull the tail lamp out of the vehicle from the outside. Be careful not to stretch the wiring
4. locate and remove the brake lamp bulb see diagram, twist the housing and remove.

Thanks for visiting us, and let us know if you need anything else!
