Brake warning light turned on?

This brake lamp light on my dash lit up today. Any ideas? The brake lights are working.

The brake lamp is actually an indicator of the brake fluid level in the reservoir. So that means it is low for a reason due to this being a sealed system. This means it either has a leak or the brake pads are getting worn and it takes more brake fluid to extend the piston in the calipers to apply the brakes.

Here is a guide that covers this in a little more detail but I would start with removing the wheels and inspect the pads for needing to be replaced.

This is extremely helpful. I know the pads are getting worn, they've been making noise for a week now. I'll check everything and do a brake job this week. Thank you
