Replaced the brake fluid level switch, light went out. After driving a short time, brake fluid level light back on and blinking. Is there a reset for this light? Or could it be a short in a wire? Original switch was corroded and not reading, reason we replaced it.

Hi,

If the light is on again, I would suggest starting by inspecting the wiring to and from it. Since it stayed off for some time, it sounds like moving the wiring around to replace the sensor may have caused a connection to be made.

Here is a link that shows how to check wiring and connections. I hope it's helpful.

Now, don't laugh at me, but did you check the fluid to confirm it's not low due to a leak?

Also, I would recommend having the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. The vehicle has an OBD 2 system. It should indicate codes that are present related to the sensor.

Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but most parts stores will do it for you free of charge.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
