They give more than one location because of the number of modules that vehicle has depending on engine and drivetrain type. The 3.6 has different systems than the 2.4 turbo and the AWD is a bit different than the front wheel only. The main BCM is located below the dash in the front of the console in a docking area. To get to it you remove the upper trim panel and then the lower trim panel. Then the right hand duct comes off the HVAC unit and the BCM is right behind it clipped into place.
Major warning though, this truck uses global network components, you cannot install any different modules in any part of it without bricking the vehicle. Basically if you replaced say the BCM, you then have to connect to GM and go through an entire sequence of programming other modules to get the truck to run again as it locks the security until you go through and update all the modules. The last one I did took about 20 minutes to mechanically replace the module, then close to 8 hours programming the various modules to get everything to work and the truck to run.
What is the issue you have? That truck splits a lot of items off from the BCM into other areas like the Chassis Control, Engine control and other modules like climate and infotainment modules.
