I have the vehicle listed above (wagon) that has a few electrical issues (so has every BMW i've owned). This one specificaly is related to the CD player, it looks like the previous owner took a crack at the problem by replaceing the OEM display with a new OEM display.
the issue is that the CD player only displays the BMW start up screen/ logo.
I have tried, 3 finger reset, powercycle, battery removal and wait and put back in. I also purchased an Android display upgrade however it appears that the model is inline only and makes use of the OEM CD player for music functions. The Android device worked, (powered up, display worked, connected to my phone, but the Radio and media play functions just showed the same BMW logo.)
I would love some advice on coding (i have a usb to obd2) or If I should just replace and then try to code it.

Hmm the three-finger reset I found is:

3-finger reset (MENU + CD eject + DVD eject)

If this does not work, I would try a hard system reboot, this guide can help:

If this does not work, you could have a problem with the CCC. (Car Communication Computer), so I would do a CAN scan to see which codes are stored.
