1998 BMW 740 Wiper Fuse Blown

Wipers do not work so, I changed the fuse but now every time I try to turn on wipers the fuse blows. What is causing this?

There could be two reasons 1. The wiper motor is no good 2. On that specific model water leaks down from the windshield onto the motor and the electrical plug, you will have to remove the lower windshield grill to access the electrical harness to make sure it is not wet.
